The OS update from any tech giant brings in a lot of enthusiasm among the users and excitement about what new features they may get after the update. Here, I will discuss some of the most talked about features of Mac OS High-Sierra brought in by Apple in its latest OS updates.

Apple was using the HFS+ file system before this update, the latest OS contains some major tweaks in the arrangement of files and folders in your MacBook. Apple has introduced their own APFS(Apple File System) with 64-bit architecture design. This new file system promises to bring in latest encryption for your data, making it more responsive and fast. Yes! You read that right, Apple has claimed that its latest version of famous Safari Browser has become the fastest desktop browser in the Mac OS High Sierra. The claims made by senior vice president of Apple group says that the latest Safari browser is at least 80% faster than Chrome!
How?, you may ask, well the benchmarks put forward by Apple to support its claims clearly showed that Safari was way ahead in terms of speed, loading web pages, downloading etc. One another small yet very effect inclusion in the browser is, pausing the videos with autoplay option. Earlier whenever you visited a website, the video on the page started playing automatically.
3. The Photo App: Refined.
The latest noteworthy change that we have observed is the Apple’s love for photos. The latest app for the same in the Mac OS High Sierra has added a ton of option for the users to make changes, save live photos, convert live photos to GIF etc. The latest update of Mac OS High Sierra also give the user options for editing and using third party application for the same. A user can simply click on the desired photo, they wish to edit with a third party app and send it to the desired application. A user can also fine tune the color, contrast, and loads of filters to make editing fun again!
4. Spotlight: Did Someone Say Google?
The spotlight is Apple’s very own google and their partnership has been quite a success story. The latest version of Mac OS High Sierra has converted the Spotlight from a mere search tool to a web integrated search dictionary just like Google. Now a user can make use of spotlight in the same way as Android users do it with Google. Now you can make use of spotlight for tracking a flight, booking a flight or the whole flight map. In case the spotlight could not search something which you have input, then it will redirect you to certain web-pages with similar options.
5. Universal Clipboard:
The universal clipboard is a big boon for multitaskers. It was earlier introduced as a feature between Mac OS and iOS but with Sierra, it has been included for Mac to Mac as well. So what does it do, to get a mention in feature list?
You can copy an item on one Mac device and paste it on a separate one without any hiccups and as simple as it has been explained. This feature will allow the users to work on simultaneous Mac devices without any clutter.
6. Support For VR and AR.
The latest version of Mac OS high Sierra can support both Augmented Reality as well as Virtual Reality. In order to boost the latency and increasing market for AR and VR in mobile devices, Apple has its own platform for developers called ARkit. If reports are to be believed then Apple very soon will make HTC Vive as the update will add Streaming Support for VR. This will open a new trend for other PC makers and OS designers as the VR capabilities were limited to only Desktop and mobile devices.
Mac OS High Sierra: Is it Worth The Update?
Mac OS High Sierra is not a new version in the line Of Mac OS and just a few tweaks and updates here and there to make the user experience more refined. The added features mentioned above are of course worth a change for many, but if the said changes do not feel suitable to your needs then you can wait for a complete OS update in the coming time.
As far as I am concerned, I feel there are certain tweaks which are worth looking into, like the Safari Browser enhancements, even the Photo app added features can make many to go for the change. So overall the latest version of updates have surely got the attention of people but whether it is enough for a user to upgrade is totally dependent on the said individual.
