PM Modi in Russia
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Russian President Vladimir Putin in the morning and took a tour of the Zvezda shipbuilding complex on the first day of his two-day visit to Russia. PM Modi landed in the Russian city of Vladivostok around 4.30 am (IST). PM Narendra Modi is in Russia as the chief guest of the 5th Eastern Economic Forum. PM Modi will also take part in the 20th India-Russia Annual Summit and hold bilateral talks with President Vladimir Putin. On the eve of his departure to Vladivostok, PM Modi said his visit to the far-east region of Russia is the first by any Indian prime minister. PM Modi said his visit underlines the desire of India and Russia to diversify and further strengthen the bonds of our robust bilateral relations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday arrived in Russia to attend the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) and the 20th annual summit between the two nations. MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar in a tweet shared photographs and said "Zdravstvuyte Rossiya! PM Modi was warmly welcomed at Vladivostok airport on his 3rd bilateral visit to Russia. Over the next 2 days, bilateral meeting with President Putin, participation at Eastern Economic Forum & meetings with other world leaders on the agenda."
Modi’s visit to the Russian Far East Region is the first by an Indian Prime Minister. The tour will be a rather short one of just 36 hours where Modi arrived in Vladivostok on September 4 morning and will depart from there on September 5 evening.
